Kindergarten Transition Information

•  Now that I know the Registration dates, what is my next step?
  •      Contact your neighborhood school and sign up to attend Kindergarten Registration

•  What do I need to bring to Kindergarten Registration?
  •       If you have not already submitted a Kindergarten Registration Packet, please bring a completed Registration Packet with you to Registration.
  •       A copy of your child’s immunization record verified by a doctor.
  •       Your child’s birth certificate.
  •       2 forms of proof of residency.

The Greensburg Salem School District strives to provide students and families with multiple opportunities to participate in transition activities.  

REGISTRATION AND SCREENING- Pre-School Students and their Parents are asked to attend Kindergarten Registration.   Parents will work with school staff to ensure their child’s Registration Information is complete.  Pre-K students will participate in Kindergarten Screening which includes a snack and fun activity to take home.

P.A.W.S. – Parents Are Welcome in School.  Please join our Kindergarten teachers for an hour of fun, parent and child learning activities designed to help your little one transition into Kindergarten.  Please contact your neighborhood school to sign up with your little one to attend these sessions.

KINDERCAMP- A half-day transition opportunity, where your child will have a chance to work with a kindergarten teacher from their building, practicing kindergarten readiness skills with some of their classmates. This program is an excellent opportunity for the student to smoothly transition to the first day of Kindergarten.
